A Guide To The Most Comfortable Underwear for Every Body

Underwear is the foundation for every outfit. Wearing the right pair can boost confidence, keep you comfortable all day, and it should vanish without a trace underneath other layers, which ours does, btw. The right undies just make your clothes look better on (and make you feel more confident when they are off!) Your undies should not be distracting, uncomfortable or noticeable—either physically or visually. 

Here’s what to look for as you choose your best fit:

Waistband: A waistband should feel snug, but not tight. Keep an eye out for fabric rolling—ideally, the waistband stays in place without slipping or riding up.

Leg Openings: Like the waistband, leg openings should stay in place without squeezing skin or bunching. Leg openings range from high cuts (toward the hip flexor) to lower, covering more of your pelvis. No matter what your preference is, make sure fabric doesn’t sag or bunch.

Coverage: This category could depend on what else you’re wearing or personal preference! From thongs to full-coverage briefs, there’s a coverage level for everyone. The biggest thing to watch out for is if you feel free to move with fabric that stays in place.

Freedom to Move: Underwear that fits really well should feel like a second skin. If you’re constantly making adjustments and repositioning, that’s hard to do! 

Recovery: Underwear that expands to fit on your body cannot shift back into place when you move.  That is why underwear that appears very small and then stretches to fit your body often leads to wedgies. You want underwear that fits your body when you put it on!
