DAY IN BRIEF: Tara West, Fashion Stylist, Blogger, and Podcast Host

Being a stylist may seem like the most glamorous job in the world (and sure, there’s some glamour involved) but like any job, you still look forward to the weekend. At least, that’s the case for Tara West, an award-winning fashion stylist, lifestyle blogger, cohost of the Shorts podcast, and on-air style expert who serves clients all over the country, from Boston to New York to Los Angeles. 

Tara is a fashion-industry pro who got her start in 2011. After leaving a successful practice as a psychotherapist, she set out to create exclusive shopping events tailored to customers' needs. Fast forward to today, and Tara is best known for her personalized wardrobe consults and dressing clients for red carpet and black tie events, media, and editorial shoots. 

Between styling clients, co-hosting her podcast, and various appearances, Tara’s schedule never stops. So by the time Friday comes around, she’s ready to take a moment to appreciate where she’s at—maybe with a glass of vino. Uwila Warrior: What is your favorite day of the week? 

Tara West: Friday. It’s a day that you can enjoy your accomplishments from the week and look forward to a relaxing and fun weekend.

UW: How does the day start for you? 

Tara: I get in an early workout before a busy workday. 

UW: What about the afternoon?

Tara: The afternoon is usually working with a client and picking my kids up from their activities.

UW: What does a perfect evening for you look like?

Tara: A nice dinner with my family and a relaxing evening.

UW: What habits or moments during the day give you strength?

Tara: I work out early, around 5:30 a.m., knowing that the next day I can sleep in. That gives me the motivation to get through my routine at the end of the week.  

UW: How do you power down at night?

Tara: I don’t drink very much but on Fridays I usually have a nice glass of wine to unwind.
