Features to Look for in a Plus Size Bralette 

A bralette is a lightweight bra that doesn’t have underwire. It’s designed to be worn under your clothes in place of a traditional bra, or sometimes as a top on its own. For all of our plus-size underwear, including bralettes, we use different fit models to develop extended size ranges. “We don't just scale up a size small or medium to a 3X,” explains Lisa Mullan, Uwila Warrior’s Chief Underwear Officer & Founder, noting that a body does not proportionally change by size.

The underband: The band around the bust in our Soft Bra bralette is taller than average, so we don’t have to rely so heavily on the strap. For the underband, we also use a more structured elastic to provide more support and to take some of the stress off of the straps

The fabric: Our Soft Bra also has a double layer of mesh fabric in the larger sizes that assists with support. 

The bra strap: Our bra straps are fun and meant to be shown. They are also wider, to even out the support without digging in on the shoulders. 

How to Maximize Comfort and Support 

Modern bras and bralettes find ways to maximize comfort while still offering support. At Uwila Warrior, we skip traditional bra components in both The Braless and Soft Bra. Instead we use soft materials that are more comfortable, but still provide the support needed for larger cup sizes and plus size bodies.

Choosing the Right Size 

Getting the appropriate size is key to finding a plus size wireless bra that works for you. With a tape measure and a few minutes, you can ensure you get the best fit. Just follow these simples steps: 

1.Take your band measurement. Wrap a soft tape measure around your torso directly under your bust. Keep the tape parallel to the ground, level, and snug.

2. Take your bust measurement. Measure around the fullest part of your bust. Consider leaning forward from the waist when you measure the fullest part. 
3. Calculate your cup size. Subtract your band size from your bust size. Based on the result, you can get your cup size.  <1 inch is AA. 1 inch is A. 2 inches is B. 3 inches is C. 4 inches is D. 5 inches is DD/E.
4. Check out our size chart. Compare your band and cup measurement to our handy sizing chart. If you like a loser band, size up. If you like less coverage, size down. The benefit of a non-wire bra is that they’re super flexible. 

In general, we recommend sizing up in The Braless. Due to the compression nature of the product, we have found that customers are more comfortable if they size up.
